GULFPORT -- The Humane Society of South Mississippi announced Thursday a free pet adoption called "Saturday Caturday" is set for Saturday, Nov. 3.
HSSM Marketing Specialist Krystyna Szczechowski said that the community is encouraged to to visit the humane society on Saturday and choose from over 100 cats and kittens available for adoption.
"The Humane Society of South Mississippi, for the third time this year, is currently housing double our capacity for cats," Szczechowski said. "The abundance of homeless cats in our community is even further evidenced when compared to the sparse number of dogs currently available for adoption in the Gulfport shelter."
All cat adoptions on Saturday are free of charge and include a spay or neuter, up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, an engraved identification tag, a free visit within a week of adoption date, thrity deals of free pet insurance, a free bag of cat food and 10% off at HSSM's pet boutique.
