Steven Tyler offers his own nip slip on 'Idol'

Thanks to judge Steven Tyler, the show had a bit of fun on Tuesday night.

The problem with the two-hour ?American Idol? semifinal shows is that every performance runs together. Thirteen singers in two hours, combined with nonstop compliments from the judges and poignant home videos to serve as campaign advertisements make the whole night a festival where everyone is declared awesome and you can just vote for whoever you want.
It?s on nights like Tuesday that the producers have to shake their heads and say, ?Thank heaven for Steven Tyler.?
The rocker is not Simon Cowell. Simon would have ripped singers such as Eben Franckewitz and Chase Likens to shreds. Steven said both were awesome, along with everyone else. It isn?t his job to crush dreams, or to be honest.
It?s his job to entertain, and that?s what he does so well. Sure, it all seems scripted, especially with jokes such as ?I?m as confused as a baby in a topless bar?? Come on. Is Oscar host?Billy Crystal writing the jokes for this show now too?
And speaking of Billy Crystal ...
Judge Jennifer Lopez was one of the trending topics on Oscar night this past Sunday, as she may or may not have had a wardrobe malfunction while serving as a presenter. Think that ?Idol? wouldn?t go down that road? Think again.?
?Who am I?? Tyler said, as he sneezed and ripped open his shirt to reveal his chest.
?That was an Oscar reenactment, ladies and gentlemen,? host Ryan Seacrest said, in case anyone had forgotten.
?There was no nipple!? J.Lo swore to the audience?as the show went right into the Aaron Marcellus video clip.
Believe her or not, at least it got some energy into the show. How important was that? Those of you who watched it, think back. What else do you remember?
OK, you probably remember Colton Dixon. Dixon made it to the very last cut before being sent home a year ago, and was the most confident of the final 13 guys. He owned the stage with his cover of Paramore?s ?Decode? and will almost certainly make it to the finals.
Similarly, Joshua Ledet was memorable taking the next-to-last spot of the night and powering through Jennifer Hudson?s ?You Pulled Me Through.? J.Lo said she loved him so much she wanted to punch him. Keep that danger in mind, all you people who dream of having her fall in love with you.
And Jermaine Jones not only got a second chance in the competition, he also got to close the show. Even that might not be enough, but ?Dance With My Father? was very good and at least he got that showcase for his mother to brag about.
But it?s anyone?s guess who will be the top five vote-getters who earn the automatic spots in the final 13. The three singers to get criticized ? though very gently ? were Heejun Han, Phillip Phillips and Franckewitz, and it wouldn?t be a shock if all three made it anyway given the audience response and the amount of screen time each got during the auditions.?
Han got song-choice criticism, Phillips didn?t sing a judge-approved melody, and Franckewitz?... well, he may look a little like Justin Bieber, but he sure doesn?t sing like him. ?Han probably has the best chance of the three because he?s the funniest, his mom?s a cool dancer (based on the video clips) and Tyler loves singing ?Hey-Jun? to the tune of ?Hey Jude? every time he sees him.
Watch out for Aaron Marcellus. He went in the middle of the show, which means some of his fans may have fallen asleep before the voting started, but he put on a show with ?Never Can Say Goodbye? and the audience seemed to get into it. It wouldn?t be a shock to see Reed Grimm either, especially those with fond memories of the Bill Murray lounge singer sketches from those classic ?Saturday Night Live? episodes. He jazzed up ?Moves Like Jagger,? which at least may have gotten the attention of the folks on ?The Voice.?
Adam Brock and Deandre Brackensick went retro with Aretha Franklin and Earth, Wind & Fire. They were both fine, but did they resonate with the viewers as well as with the judges? We?ll see.
Jeremy Rosado is so likable. That?s what all of his co-workers and all the judges said. He also sang well, but it fed into the ?he has a nice personality? vibe that?s usually the kiss of death. Creighton Fraker?s in a similar boat, though he did really well with his ?True Colors? cover. Likens was very forgettable and it?s tough to see him moving forward.
But who knows? The judges liked everybody, and made it clear that everyone was awesome but that the voters had better make the right choice anyway. Good luck with that, America!

You can order a bouquet of roses on flowers.com, a novel from books.com and new lenses from contacts.com. So why shouldn't you be able to put a price on someone's head using hitmanforhire.net? Don't laugh ? because a man really was foolish enough to offer his services as a contract killer using that very domain.
Before you rush to give this fella the benefit of the doubt and suggest that he might've simply been extremely brilliant and hidden his criminal enterprise in plain sight, you should consider that even the Web developer he'd hired to build his website couldn't take him seriously. The entire tale sounds like something straight out of a funny movie.
And it might even become a funny movie. Hitmanforhire.net?was recently acquired by a production company which is claiming to be working on a film about the bumbling contract killer.
We're not entirely confident that this claim will truly be followed by some sort of cinematic blockbuster as?Michael Duke Productions, the company which currently owns the hitmanforhire.net domain, doesn't seem to have put much effort into crafting (or proofreading) the current site. But who knows? Even the leanest filmography can be deceptive.
Movie or no movie, we can still learn about the history of hitmanforhire.net and its original owner thanks to the?LA Times'?Victoria Kim, who wrote up a thorough report of the entire ? and extremely bizarre ??tale?(which thankfully never resulted?in any deaths).
The main character in the story is Essam Ahmed Eid, an Egyptian-born man who worked as a poker dealer in Las Vegas. In 2006, he suddenly decided to change careers, hiring a Florida-based man to build hitmanforhire.net. ?After launching the site, Eid did "what any modern-day neophyte would do with a new task." He turned to Google.?
Yes, you read that right ? the contract killer turned to Google to research killing methods and murder weapons. As Kim reveals:
Between numerous searches for Clay Aiken ? Eid's wife was an avid fan ? [an FBI agent] found records showing that Eid had surfed the Web about his new trade. He looked up how to make a homemade silencer from toilet parts, attempted to place an Internet order for cyanide, and researched ricin ? the castor bean-derived poison famously used in the 1978 assassination of Bulgarian dissident journalist Georgi Markov through an umbrella gun.
It didn't take long for people to inquire about Eid's services, explains Kim. "A fifth-grade girl in Kentucky wanted another girl in her class dead. Several volunteered to kill for hire. One woman wanted help committing suicide."
Eid was in business now! But despite all the thorough research he conducted and even though he'd made highly toxic ricin powder in his garage, the man didn't seem to be keen on the idea of actually killing someone. Whenever a customer put out a hit, Eid took a cash deposit and then approached the would-be-victim with an offer to spare his or her life in exchange for an additional fee.
Naturally that's how he got caught in the end.
One of the individuals Eid attempted to extort approached the FBI after the man showed up in her home and explained that her ex-boyfriend?deposited $17,000 to have her "done by a shot in the head." Eid would let her live if she paid the balance on the $37,000 job within three days. For some?inexplicable reason, he?gave her his real name during his strange business proposal.
The upshot, leaving out some amazing twists and turns from Kim's comedy of errors, is thatEid found himself in the middle of a six-week trial in Dublin in 2008. He was "convicted of extortion and burglary, but acquitted of solicitation of murder." He was sentenced to six years of prison time there and another 33 months after being extradited to the United States. He is currently in a federal prison in Mississippi, but may be released as early as Nov. 2013.
There's no word on when the corresponding movie will supposedly hit theaters.

Don?t Lose Tax Breaks by Rolling Your ... - Finance Analysis

When you retire, you might decide to rollover your company-related certified strategy holdings into an IRA. You got a tax break for the contribution to these strategies, so you will pay ordinary income tax rates once you withdraw them from your IRA.
However, in the event you purchased your organization stock through a qualified strategy, you can lose tax breaks on it if you roll that over to the Individual retirement account.
If you bought your company?s stock via an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), via your 401(k) or any other qualified retirement strategy, and the stock has appreciated, you may pay lowered? taxes on it in the event you don?t roll it over into an Individual retirement account.? Here?s how the tax break works.
Ask for that the shares of your company stock be dispersed to you. You will be needed to pay tax on the amount you contributed to their buy under the certified plan. That amount is taxed at ordinary income and that ?purchased? quantity so will become your tax basis in that stock.
Naturally if the shares have valued considerably beyond their price to you, their market price will be higher than your tax basis. The main difference between the stock?s current market worth and your tax basis in them is the ?net unrealized appreciation? (NUA). This NUA is the gain you will have in the event you offered the stock right away. In the event you do, you will be taxed on it at the lower ?long-term? capital gains rate regardless of how long you owned that stock, since it is treated as being held long term. Thus, the tax relief is you can trade what would normally be taxed as ordinary income (at rates up to 35%) as capital gains (15% in 2012).
You?re not required to market the stock, though, so you may hold on to the stock as long as you want ? perhaps selling off blocks of shares as money is required, or over a period of years, to spread out the tax cost. You?ll constantly only pay the capital gains in addition to your cost basis at the long-term capital gains rate.? You can even permit receivers to receive that equities and they?ll also inherit the tax break!
If you simply rolled that stock into an Individual retirement account, you?d be paying ordinary income tax rates as well on that portion that you can apply the long-term capital gains tax rate by taking the stock directly. So if you did that, you would be losing a tax break ? and cash.
