Hey kids. Kick your school year off with a fresh taste of the Louisville arts scene by frequenting the third installment of the Speak Social Reading Series, this time featuring poets Kyle Thompson and Kiki Petrosino, as well as an acoustic performance by Mike James of Been to the Gallows. As always, the reading will be held at Java Brewing Company on Bardstown Road. Open Mic sign-ups at 7:00, event starts at 7:30.
Kiki Petrosino?is the author of Fort Red Border (Sarabande, 2009) and the chapbook, The Dark is Here (Forklift, Ink 2011). She is an assistant professor at the University of Louisville, where she teaches creative writing. Her latest collection, Hymn for the Black Terrific, will be released by Sarabande in 2013.?You can read her poems here, here, here and here.
